How Encryption Works

Client-side encryption by default.

Notes are encrypted in the browser before upload and are decrypted only on your local device after you enter your passphrase.

Robo-Clip stores only encrypted payloads in cloud storage. Your encryption passphrase is not uploaded to the Robo-Clip backend.

The current vault format uses AES-256-GCM for encryption, with the key derived locally from your passphrase using PBKDF2-SHA-256.
